who comprises the sneakernet?

Men. Women. Boys. Girls. Fans of visual novels. Translators of eroge. Players of games. Readers of writing. People who go by pseudonyms corresponding to obscure Korean handheld consoles and certain glycoproteins on virus envelopes. Those who love the snow and those who cannot wait to feel the spring come to them. Owners of dogs. Humans owned by their cats. Revelers in the synaesthesia everywhere and worshippers of the light fantastic. You. And me.

who is in the target audience?

You may join the insani sneakernet if you meet the following conditions:

  • You are unable to, or find yourself severely hampered by, the inability to download our large-capacity bittorrents.
  • You are willing to send us your name and an address to which we can mail things to you.
  • You have the ability and the punctuality to mail off what we have sent to another insani sneakernet participant when the time comes.

who are you?

We are insani, a small circle dedicated to the localization of Japanese visual novels into English. As of the writing of this document (18 May 2006), we are one of the leaders of this particular field: we have a two-year record of highly-regarded complete translations, we have had a large hand in making the visual novel scripting engine NScripter accessible to the English-speaking audience, and we have been the founders, first coordinators, and prime participants of the translation festival al|together.
